FaceBook Re targeting

Continuing with our “How To” series of blog posts, we will be covering Facebook re-targeting today. Re-targeting is another one of the advanced features that the SunFrog platform provides its affiliates, and is used to send ads to an audience that has browsed your campaigns before.

Ad Manager

The first thing that we will want to do is place our unique audience ID into our SunFrog manager. To obtain the ID required we will need to log in to Facebook, go to the ads manager and select audiences. We will first want to create an audience that will track all traffic we receive on our SunFrog page.

Ads Manager

Insert Code

Once on the audiences page there are a few, simple steps needed to obtain your personal ID to plug in to the manager page.

  1. Click the “Create Audiences” button in the top right corner of the audience page
  2. On the drop down menu select “Custom Audience”
  3. From the pop up menu select “Website Traffic”
  4. From the “Website Traffic” drop down menu select “Anyone who visits your website”
  5. Set “In the past” to 30 days and select “Include past website traffic”
  6. Name this audience “All SunFrog traffic”

FB ID

Next we will want to grab the code seen in the highlighted are from the image above. SunFrog has the rest of the code needed built in, so all that our affiliates will have to do is post the pixel ID into their manager page. Because the entire box will select when you click on it, you will have to drag over the ID text and (ctrl + c) copy the text. After you have the ID copied, its as simple as pasting it in to your manager page.

Pixel ID Box

We have now effectively created a tracking ID to fit into our manager page, that will allow us to track the traffic that views our affiliate page. This ID will also be referenced for other audiences that you create. Now that we have our audience created lets create a more specifically targeted audience. The re-target allows you to create audiences for individual product pages. To do this, we will follow similar steps to creating the “All SunFrog” audience.

Individual Product Targeting

  1. Click the “Create Audiences” button in the top right corner of the audience page
  2. On the drop down menu select “Custom Audience”
  3. From the pop up menu select “Website Traffic”
  4. From the “Website Traffic” drop down menu select “People who visit specific we pages”
  5. Paste the URL from the product page you want to track (without your affiliate ID)
  6. Set “In the past” to 30 days and select “Include past website traffic”
  7. Name this audience for whichever shirt you are tracking

Re-Target

Now that your audiences are created, the ID we generated, will track users who view your web pages. When enough people have viewed your pages, Facebook will generate an ad that we can then send to those users. This gives you a powerful re-targeting tool to pick up sales of users that have already visited your page.
