Conversion Pixel

Now that we have covered re targeting let us cover conversion tracking. While re targeting allows you to send new campaigns to past traffic, conversion tracking will allow you to see how well your campaigns are doing. SunFrog has built in the conversion pixel to link up with Facebook, to allow our affiliates to track their, Sunfrog product, sales through Facebook. To get started, open your ads manager on Facebook and go to the conversion tracking tab.

Checkout Page Conversion

Let us create a conversion pixel to track customers who view your campaign, and compare it to customers who view your campaign and make it to the checkout page.

  1. Click “Create Pixel” in the top right corner of the screen
  2. Select “Checkouts” from the drop down menu
  3. Name your pixel SunFrog Checkouts
  4. Click “Create Pixel”

FaceBook will then generate a code to plug in to your webpage. SunFrog has most of the code built in, so all we will need is the url plugin. To obtain the url code (ctrl + c) copy the highlighted text, between the quotes. You will need to hold the area highlighted and copy, otherwise the entire window will select. Once you have this code, simply paste the code into the text box on your conversion pixel manager page.


Now that we have generated a pixel to track checkout page conversion, we just need to activate it for use on Facebook. To do this click “Fire Pixel” to run the script, and allow Facebook to recognize the tracking code. Facebook allows conversion tracking at a different stages in the checkout process, and you may use this same process to set up tracking in these other areas. This is a powerful tool that will allow you to see just how effective your ads are.

Yeah, but how to use the new universal pixel for conversion tracking? I don’t know how to add the fbq(‘track’, ‘ViewContent’);



The pixel is set up to track four specific events. As long as your default pixel ID has been update in out “retargeting” section any custom Audience you make will track ‘View Content’ ‘Page View’ ‘Initiate Checkout’ and ‘Purchase’
If you would like to follow the conversion of a particular item, you may set up a CA for individual product pages.
